The crew from PGFD Truck 831 eneded up with something that wasn’t on their grocery list when they made a stop for food Wednesday at a store in Calverton, Maryland. They found a naked man on the tip of the aerial ladder. Working with PGPD, firefighters maneuvered the ladder and eventually the man came down for a meeting with the police officers. It ended with a tasing.

MOSCOW, (RIA Novosti) – A total of 80 kg (over 176 lbs) of heroin were discovered on a train en route from the Tajik capital of Dushanbe to Moscow on Wednesday, the Russian Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

The ministry said that law-enforcers found a cache with plastic bottles “containing a dark gray substance, presumably heroin, weighting 80 kg in total.” The amount is equal to 800 000 average single doses, according to the Russian legislation.

One early morning in mid-January of 2013, Jesús Juárez opened the front door of his Brownsville, Texas home and saw a package. It had the typical FedEx markings on it, and despite the fact that his daughter’s boyfriend didn’t see it on his way out the night before, Jesús brought the package inside and opened it. PINELLAS PARK, Florida — The man attacked by an alligator after fleeing police in Florida says he was in a fight for his life with the croc.

Twenty-year-old Bryan Zuniga tells Tampa Bay’s Fox 13 News Friday that he was swimming and trying to hide when a 6- to 8-foot gator lunged at him.

Zuniga says he was nearly knocked unconscious when the gator’s mouth hit his head. He fought back with both legs and the arm not caught between the alligator’s jaws.

A suspected marijuana trafficker went up in smoke on his front lawn — in a heated Miami shootout with detectives that was captured in clear, graphic surveillance video.

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says 81 people were arrested on drug-related charges after a lengthy investigation by local and state authorities.

The KBI said in a news release Thursday that arrests were made Tuesday and Wednesday in and around Junction City, Manhattan, Grandview Plaza and Ogden. Many of the arrests involved conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.

Investigators seized a variety of narcotics and 17 firearms. The KBI says several children were placed in protective custody after the arrests.

PHOENIX (AP) — A man was sentenced to 14 years in prison Wednesday for his murder conviction in the beheading of a man in Arizona who police say had stolen drugs from a Mexican drug cartel.

Crisantos Moroyoqui-Yocupicio, 39, had pleaded no contest to second-degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Martin Alejandro Cota-Monroy at an apartment in the Phoenix suburb of Chandler on Oct. 10, 2010.

CERES — Local drug agents say they have made the biggest bust anyone can remember, seizing 290 pounds of methamphetamine Tuesday along with $66,000 in cash. Two men were arrested.

According to the Modesto Police Department, agents with the Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency, the Modesto Narcotics Enforcement Team and Homeland Security Investigations served a search warrant at a home on Hardy Court in Ceres after receiving an anonymous tip.

During the search of the residence Tuesday afternoon, agents located the meth in several storage containers.
